In this series of portraits staff from the UCL department 'Libraries, Culture, Collections and Open Science' are photographed in their place of work but in the outfit, dress, attire of the pursuit they are most passionate about.
The series looks behind the person we are professionally to present a sometimes-surprising aspect of our identity, that might not be obvious in our day-to-day working life. Whether it is a sport, something creative or a more practical hobby, the activities we throw ourselves into, and the ways in which we immerse ourselves in them, reveal something about us to the world and how this contributes to who we are.
The portraits present a juxtaposition between the settings and subjects that might challenge existing social stereotypes and prompt us to question our own, personal expectations.
